A wide selection of 90,000 products (not including variants) gives REIFF’s online shop a competitive edge. Unfortunately, the processing of REIFF's catalog overwhelmed the previous open source search solution. This was negatively impacting site performance, user experience and ultimately, sales. With 25,000 monthly visitors with an intent to buy, that had to change.
The company sought to integrate a reliable, high-performance search tailored to the unique purchasing habits of their B2B clients. Many of these clients are in the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sector, typically have little interest in marketing or cross-selling initiatives and expect fast order processing. “The majority search for specific article numbers and leave the store immediately after purchasing,” Lina-Marie notes.
